How many guests can I bring?

To help us plan for this event, we asked to please indicate in the registration box how many guests you expect to bring to the Hooding Ceremony in the invitation. If your guest number has since changed, you can send us an update at sphcomms@ohsu.edu.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You do not have to bring your printed registration to the event, we will keep a list of all the RSVPs.

What time do I need to be where and how long will the day be?

You should plan accordingly with traffic, parking, using the restrooms, etc. before the events begin. If you are participating in any of the June 4 events, expect to arrive earlier than the event actually begins. Please note that robing and line-up for students and faculty begins at 12:00 p.m. and early admittance into Exhibit Hall C/D will not be permitted. Doors to Exhibit Hall C/D will open at 12:15 p.m., and families and guests will be allowed in the venue at that time.

Each of the June 4 events takes place at the Oregon Convention Center, and the day’s events run from morning to early evening. Specific information can be found at the OHSU-PSU SPH Graduation Events and OHSU Convocation pages.

What colors are my regalia?

Master’s degree students and alums wear a black robe, a black motarboard cap, a salmon pink tassel that will hang from your cap, and a master’s hood (imagine a backwards scarf) indicating the University’s colors and the discipline’s color.

      • OHSU Hood: University colors are green, blue and white, the velvet trim color is salmon pink for Public Health
      • PSU Hood: University colors are green and white, the velvet trim color is salmon pink for Public Health
      • Faculty regalia: SPH faculty wear the regalia from their highest degree earned, and so will have varying robe colors, cap types, and hood colors.

Do I have to be in regalia in order to participate?

Yes, all faculty and student participants of the Hooding ceremony (and the OHSU Convocation and the PSU Commencement ceremonies) are to be in their academic regalia.

By when did I have to order my regalia?

What kind of food will be provided at the reception?

The OHSU Convocation team orders all reception items for each School. We anticipate refreshments and appetizer type items will be provided.
