Workshop on Racial Justice Work within Governmental Public Health
November 19 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
This FREE workshop will provide an overview of the process used by a university research team and county health department that collaboratively developed the Racial Justice Impact Assessment (RJIA) tool. This tool aims to help the health department answer “how is racism operating here?” and recommend anti-racist policies and practices. The project was grounded in anti-racist concepts including public health critical race praxis, community-based participatory research, and bounded justice. Lessons learned from the workshop can help local and state health department practitioners apply anti-racist principles in their work, using implementation strategies from the RJIA tool.
