The Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network (ORPRN) was established in 2002 at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. ORPRN’s mission is to improve health and equity for all Oregonians through community engaged research, education, and policy. ORPRN facilitates a broad variety of clinical health care research, quality improvement projects, and practice transformation efforts in rural Oregon, and across the state. ORPRN is committed to building and sustaining a diverse, equitable, inclusive and anti-racist organization. We do so by evaluating how we develop and support our workforce, the partnerships we uphold and how we engage in our work throughout Oregon.

Function/Duties of Position

The student worker position will support two ORPRN projects –1) interviews with Coordinated Care Organizations to better understand needs related to Community Information Exchange (CIE) and 2) Technical Assistance for health care and social service partners implementing systems to provide health-related social needs (HRSN) to Oregonians.

Key Responsibilities include:

CIE interviews

  • Scheduling interviews
  • Drafting interview guide and questions
  • Recording and transcribing of interviews
  • Support qualitative analysis, report writing and slide development
  • Attend meetings

HRSN technical assistance

  • Support planning for a conference
  • Support hosting of virtual events like webinars, including content development and technical/logistical support

Other duties as assigned (e.g., supporting meetings and technical assistant offerings)

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Graduate Program (minimum 4.5 credit hours)
  • High-level computer knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, with ability to create spreadsheets, data entry forms, queries and report, and experience with PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to perform the job duties with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

1 year experience with a combination of any the following public health core competencies- assessment, policy development, program planning, health equity, community partnership development and/or health systems change.
