Posting Summary
The Center for Health, Identity, Behavior & Prevention Studies (CHIBPS) (www.chibps.org) situated at the School of Public Health, Rutgers University working in conjunction with the developing Rutgers Sexual and Gender Minority Institute (RU-LGBTQ) has an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral associate. This is 1-year appointment with a start date no sooner that March 1, 2026 and renewable for two additional years pending productivity, performance, and overall fit. The postdoctoral program enables associates to build a high caliber scholarly portfolio in LGBTQ+ public health research through mentored scholarship and independent research opportunities.
In addition to research activities, the post doc will coordinate activities for Annals of LGBT Public & Population Health, partake in the LGBTQ MPH concentration, and further the development of LGBTQ health at RU-LGBTQ as well as undertake active community dissemination activities.
Minimum Education and Experience
- PhD, ScD, MD or an equivalent doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, social and behavioral sciences (e.g., sociology, psychology), or related fields with strong emphasis on quantitative methods or applied statistics
- Must have extensive experience conducting statistical analyses with large databases using SAS or Stata.
- Candidates in All But Degree (ABD) status will also be considered for interviewing.
- Strong applied quantitative data analytic skills and experience conducting statistical analyses with large databases.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of transgender health, LGBTQ health disparities, and HIV-affected populations.
- Track record of, or strong potential for, independent funding.
