Community Engagement Committee

The Community Engagement Committee (CEC) consists of eight faculty members who represent the breadth of academic programs (four from PSU, four from OHSU) and three students representing doctoral, master’s, and baccalaureate programs.

The CEC provides support, guidance, and recommendations on interactions with members of the community.

Key responsibilities of the CEC include:

Community Engagement Guidelines

Develop and maintain guidelines for engaging with, and supporting the needs of, our communities, prioritizing historically oppressed and marginalized communities.

Mechanisms of Accountability

Develop and maintain mechanisms of accountability to ensure the School is centering and elevating these communities.

Guidelines In Our Curricula

Develop and maintain guidelines for community engagement competencies in our curricula.

Community Partners

Develop and maintain opportunities for community partners to share their expertise.

Faculty and Community Relations Best Practices

Determine and disseminate best practices for faculty working with communities.

Compensation of Community Members

Work with the Provosts’ offices from both universities through the AD/SJ to develop and maintain guidelines for compensation of community members who support the School.
