Surveying the Meaning and Impact of Juneteenth with Dr. Scott Finnie will cover the actual specifics of Juneteenth’s history and significance for us today, as well as touch upon diversity issues in relation to the distinct lived experiences of various cultures and ethnicities in our country. There will be time for audience feedback and participation, as well as a closing Q&A.
This session will be led by Dr. Scott Finnie who is a notable speaker and owner of Engagement Team Concepts, a diversity training organization. He has previously facilitated trainings and discussions at OHSU focused on transformative education, race relations and equity. He is currently a senior professor within the School of Education and Africana Studies at Eastern Washington University. He has annually conducted numerous seminars, workshops and trainings in addition to keynote addresses, guest speaker presentations, radio and TV interviews, podcasts and research colloquiums – both nationally and internationally.
