Causal mediation analysis can be a powerful tool for investigating underlying mechanisms and pathways between variables, and it is becoming more commonly applied in many research fields, including epidemiology. This presentation will introduce causal mediation analysis and its application to epidemiology, using examples from a recently published paper, Maternal Obesity and Childhood Asthma Risk: Exploring Mediating Pathways.
