Quantitative Epidemiology Methods in Practice Seminar Series
“Six New Logical Fallacies that can arise in Dynamic and Multilevel Research”
Alexis Dinno, ScD, MPH, MEM
Associate Professor, OHSU-PSU School of Public Health
Alexis Dinno will be presenting the substantive material from a paper by her and Lynne Messer currently under review titled “Context and timing in Epidemiology: Fallacies from a dynamic multilevel perspective”. She will revisit the four established multilevel fallacies in epidemiology (ecological, atomistic, psychologistic, and sociologistic), and introduce six new fallacies which should have interest especially for those epidemiologists working in longitudinal research.
