SUMMARY:From Data to Action: Global Burden of Disease and the Role of Academic Public Health
DESCRIPTION:The Global Network for Academic Public Health (GNAPH) will host an upcoming webinar\, From Data to Action: Global Burden of Disease and the Role of Academic Public Health\, on May 27 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET. This timely session will explore the latest findings from the 2023 Global Burden of Disease Study and their implications for academic public health. \nModerated by GNAPH President John Middleton and featuring experts from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME)\, the webinar will highlight critical insights on post-pandemic health trends\, persistent global inequities\, and the rising burden of noncommunicable diseases. These findings provide an important evidence base for understanding current and emerging health challenges worldwide. \nThe session will also focus on how Global Burden of Disease data and tools can be applied in academic settings to strengthen teaching\, inform research\, and support evidence-based advocacy. By translating data into action\, academic public health institutions can play a central role in preparing future leaders and advancing solutions to complex global health issues. \nThis webinar offers an opportunity for faculty\, staff\, and students to engage with leading experts and explore practical approaches to integrating global health data into education and practice. \nREGISTER FOR EVENT
