SUMMARY:ASPPH Webinar: Transforming Academia For Equity
DESCRIPTION:ASPPH\, in partnership with the Transforming Academia for Equity Coordinating Center\, Change Matrix\, is pleased to announce a new three-part webinar series designed to advance equity-centered change across academic public health. Transforming Academia for Equity: A Learning Journey is a free\, open-access professional development opportunity for students\, staff\, and faculty seeking practical strategies to strengthen equity\, institutional excellence\, and belonging. \nThis interactive series introduces the Leading Through Change Framework (LTCF)\, developed by Change Matrix and used by Transforming Academia for Equity grantee institutions to guide organizational transformation. Each 75-minute session will focus on a phase of the framework\, from creating conditions for change\, to engaging diverse voices\, to implementing and sustaining long-term efforts. Participants will gain a comprehensive and actionable roadmap for advancing equity within their institutions. \nAttendees will hear directly from grantee institutions\, including Drexel University\, UCLA\, the University of Memphis\, the University of Southern California\, and Oregon State University\, and will engage in structured activities to apply concepts in their own settings. Each session is designed to provide practical tools and clear next steps. \nThe series begins May 13 and continues June 10 and July 15\, with sessions held from 1:00 to 2:15 PM ET. While participants are encouraged to attend all sessions\, each session may also be taken independently. Recordings and resources will be available through the IDEA Institute’s eLearn platform following each webinar. \nThis series is supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. \nREGISTER FOR EVENT

SUMMARY:ASPPH Webinar: Advancing Public Health: Advocacy and Policy in Challenging Times
DESCRIPTION:ASPPH will host the next ASPPH Presents webinar\, Advancing Public Health: Advocacy and Policy in Challenging Times\, on June 11 from 2:30–3:30 PM ET. The webinar will bring together leaders in academic public health\, government affairs\, and legal advocacy to discuss the evolving federal policy landscape and its implications for higher education and public health. As policy and funding priorities continue to shift\, the session will provide timely insights into legislative and regulatory developments affecting academic public health institutions and the future workforce. \nModerated by Dr. Megan Ranney\, Dean of the Yale School of Public Health and Chair of the ASPPH Advocacy Committee\, the webinar will feature Ashley Palmer\, Principal of Cornerstone Government Affairs\, and Joel McElvain\, Senior Legal Advisor with Democracy Forward\, and Maya Goldman\, Health Care Policy Reporter from Axios. Speakers will discuss key federal developments\, including the Department of Education’s final rule on professional degree programs\, broader federal student aid policy changes\, workforce development issues\, and the policy environment leading into the midterm elections. \nThe session is designed for faculty\, administrators\, students\, and public health leaders seeking to better understand how ongoing policy changes may affect public health education\, research\, and workforce preparation. In addition to providing updates on federal activity\, the webinar will offer practical guidance and advocacy perspectives to help institutions navigate an increasingly complex policy environment. \nASPPH encourages members and partners to register and participate in this important discussion on the future of advocacy and public health policy leadership. \nREGISTER FOR EVENT
