Dr. Hathi’s visit is particularly significant for our faculty. As a board-certified physician\, former White House Senior Policy Advisor\, and now Oregon’s chief public health official\, she represents the interdisciplinary leadership required to address today’s complex health challenges. \nThis is a unique opportunity for our school to engage with the leadership of our state’s primary public health partner as we discuss the future of the field in Oregon. And her talk perfectly embodies this year’s NPHW theme: “Ready. Set. As Director of the Oregon Health Authority\, she oversees the state’s public health services\, Medicaid program\, and behavioral health systems. \nDr. Hathi’s distinguished career includes serving as a White House Senior Policy Advisor for Public Health and as the Deputy Health Commissioner for New Jersey\, where she led significant state-level public health interventions. A graduate of Yale and Stanford University (MD/MBA)\, she has held faculty positions at Johns Hopkins and Stanford\, bringing a rare blend of executive policy expertise and global health leadership to her role as Oregon’s chief health official.
