SUMMARY:Visual Thinking and Data Visualization for Clinical Research
DESCRIPTION:This highly interactive session presents ways to use visual thinking to strengthen research and scientific communication. In order to visualize data well\, we have to understand our research deeply. Likewise\, in order to understand our research deeply\, we need to be able to visualize it well. Centered around a graph makeover\, the talk presents three real-world design principles that can clarify both data visualization and critical thinking. \nKate Miller is Director of the Visual Thinking and Data Visualization Program at the Quantitative Sciences Unit at Stanford Medical School\, as well as a Senior Biostatistician there.
