Mark Loveless

Biography

Dr. Mark Loveless, MD, has a volunteer community-based faculty appointment in the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Epidemiology (MPH and PhD) programs. In this SPH role his work includes teaching courses and mentoring students.
 
Dr. Loveless’s professional path has included private medical practice, academic medicine, clinical research, public health administration and the pharmaceutical industry. He also has served as the Medical Epidemiologist for the HIV/AIDS programs in the Oregon Health Division, the Medical Director of HIV/AIDS Clinical Services at OHSU, and Medical Director for the Influenza and Transplant Medicine groups at Roche/Genentech. Most recently he was CEO and Science Director of MNR Analytics, LLC, a company that provided innovative tools, analytics and consultative resources designed to improve the structure and function of healthcare systems and integrated community health focused resource networks. He is currently a consultant focused on the response to the COVID-19 pandemic and is working with public health agencies and private corporations in the Pacific Northwest.
 
Dr. Loveless’s career has focus on quality clinical care, translational medical research and community health network effectiveness. This work has been applied to the challenges of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, pandemic influenza, infections in transplant recipients, stroke, cystic fibrosis, and most recently COVID-19. Currently his professional interests are focused on improving the performance of integrated community health and safety networks and the effective integration of public health principles into non-profit community organizations and health-focused businesses.
