ABOUT REGALIA
All faculty and student participants must wear academic regalia to PSU, OHSU and SPH graduation ceremonies. Herff/Jones is the provider of regalia for both PSU and OHSU students, and students purchase regalia. Call Herff Jones at 360-254-7870 or email scott@royaltpapers.com with special needs.
What Regalia Do I Wear?
The discipline of Public Health is represented by the color salmon pink.
- Bachelor’s candidates: black robe, black mortarboard cap with a salmon pink tassel.
- Master of Public Health candidates: black master’s robe, black mortarboard cap with a salmon pink tassel, master’s hood with the home University’s color and salmon pink trim.
- Master of Science candidates: black master’s robe, black mortarboard cap with a gold tassel, OHSU master’s hood with gold trim (representing the discipline of Science).
- Doctoral candidates: black doctoral robe, black tam with a bronze tassel, doctoral hood indicating the home University’s color and salmon pink trim.

Veteran Honor Cords
Veteran Honor Cords can be ordered at no charge through Herff-Jones.
Diversity Cords
The Center for Learner Diversity and Inclusion and the Office of the Provost are pleased to provide Diversity Service Cords to graduating students who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to diversity, equity and inclusion at OHSU. The decorative rope with tassels can be worn with the graduate’s regalia to indicate their achievements. The color of the Diversity Service Cord is blue to signify unity and perseverance.
Students must meet at least 1 of the following 3 criteria to receive the Cord:
- Served as a leader (held title/leadership role) of a diversity-related student interest group for a minimum of 12 months
- Been a past nominee or recipient of any diversity award at OHSU
- Volunteered and made meaningful contributions with the Center for Learner Diversity and Inclusion or other diversity-specific (efforts in the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Pharmacy or other) entities at OHSU during their tenure as a student at OHSU
The application deadline is May 3, 2024.

SPH FACULTY REGALIA
Faculty wear regalia representing their highest degree earned, so will have varying robe colors, cap types, and hood colors. Faculty who need regalia can rent or purchase it through Herff/Jones.
