Department Overview

OHSU’s Student Health and Wellness Center is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented and collaborative Coordinator to manage the Food Resource Center (FRC) and related offerings, and be a key member of the Student Well-Being team.

The Food Resource Center is part of OHSU’s Student Health and Wellness Center and provides nutritious, no-cost food and related resources to OHSU students to help mitigate food insecurity on campus. Student Health also provides high-quality primary care, behavioral health, and wellness services to promote the health and well-being of OHSU students and postdoctoral scholars. The FRC is a key part of the Student Well-Being team.

The FRC Coordinator is responsible for managing Student Health’s Food Resource Center, which provides

approximately 100,000 pounds of food annually to OHSU students. It serves a vital need in mitigating student food insecurity and supporting the 30-30-30 initiative to increase the size and diversity of the future healthcare workforce in Oregon. This varied role involves efficiently managing day-to-day operations of the FRC, including securing and safely providing food, recruiting and organizing student workers and volunteers, raising awareness about the FRC and Student Well-Being offerings, and collaborating with campus and community partner. The role also serves as a champion of student food security and student well-being, and a key representative of the Student Well-Being team and Student Health overall.

Within this position, the FRC Coordinator will provide the exciting opportunity to help shape and grow OHSU’s thriving Food Resource Center. It will require your expertise and skills in maintaining and developing new processes and systems as well in adapting to and problem-solving in evolving circumstances.

As the FRC Coordinator, you will hire, train and manage FRC Student Workers and volunteers. The Coordinator reports to Student Health’s Wellness and Outreach Program Manager. The Coordinator also works closely with Student Health’s Medical Director and other Student Health staff, a well as the Food Security Task Force.
