Function/Duties of Position

This position supports the Pregnancy Decisions App Project in OHSU’s Institute on Development and Disability. The purpose of the research project is to create an app that will work on a computer or smart phone. The app will help people with developmental disabilities make decisions about getting pregnant or not getting pregnant. The Research Assistant 2 will take a leadership role in recruiting research participants and supporting their participation. This position will work closely with the project director and project coordinator to help plan and implement recruitment strategies; enroll participants in the study; and follow up with potential participants. The Research Assistant 2 will also help communicate with recruitment partners in other states. This may include working with other project staff to follow up on recruitment leads. The Research Assistant 2 may also help participants complete screeners or surveys. May include data entry.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in relevant field OR Associate’s AND 3 years of relevant experience OR 4 years of relevant experience OR Equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience with organizing information and following through on tasks.
  • Attention to detail and task management to keep track of required activities and ensure they are completed on time.
  • Reliable access to a computer, a stable internet connection, and the ability to do remote work (if remote work desired).
  • Comfort with using Outlook email, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint, and feel ready to learn new software if needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience working on research projects.
  • Interest in pregnancy decisions.
  • People with additional lived experiences (such as disability; racial, gender, or sexual minority; from a disadvantaged background, etc.) are- encouraged to apply.
  • Scientific training or experience with the research methods used in this project is nice but not necessary for this role.

Additional Details

This position can be remote, in-person, or hybrid; it is open to anyone in the U.S. However, access to dependable technology and comfort working remotely is necessary
