POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position will be responsible for supporting data and evaluation services across the organization. This will require collaborating with program departments assigned to identify current evaluation practices, and areas of improvement, and research and propose changes to strengthen processes. The goal is to develop comprehensive best practices in evaluation processes for all programs that focus on impacts achieved for each program (quantitative and qualitative) as well as accurately support reporting requirements and collection of demographic and outcome data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support program evaluations and teams; assist in the creation of data collection instruments and materials, development of evaluation defined questions, logic models, conduct and facilitate focus groups, conduct data analysis, and contribute to report writing and dissemination.
  • Participate in the design of process and outcome evaluations and performance measures; co-create data management and collection systems; perform survey instrument design and testing, update databases, generate descriptive statistics, and test and validate findings.
  • Perform complex technical duties such as monitoring data integrity and evaluating the delivery of program services.
  • Assist in the planning and management of all aspects of program evaluations, including methods design, data collection, data entry, data analysis, reporting, and dissemination.
  • Work with program managers to develop program logic models and evaluation frameworks.
  • Facilitate project management: develop work plans, assign responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Provide technical assistance to program staff as needed including clarifying project goals, objectives, data entry procedures, and outcomes; refining data collection systems; and using data to inform practice.
  • Provide technical support with flexible and comfortable language switching (English- Spanish, Spanish – English) to staff from diverse backgrounds and comfort levels with technology.
  • Conduct analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Perform research and literature reviews to support evaluations.
  • Conduct needs assessments to support proposals and program planning.
  • Train staff in data entry procedures and protocols and support data integrity and quality monitoring.
  • Assist in program data entry as needed or as back up.
  • Support in the updating of data collection and data entry protocols and other relevant training curriculums.
  • Represent agency in collaborative partnerships to ensure agency outcomes and data are provided and managed appropriately (i.e., PNI, Successful Families, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Evaluation.

Requirements

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Preferred Master’s Degree in social sciences, education, or other relevant field with coursework in research methods and data analysis, or at least 5 years of equivalent Social science data analysis/evaluations professional experience or certification (other relevant education, work, or life experience may be substituted).
  • Experience with and knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods in research and evaluation, including design, implementation, and data analysis.
  • Experience with and knowledge of participatory research methods.
  • Experience running focus groups, structured and unstructured interviews, and analyzing and presenting qualitative data results.
  • Understanding the value and critical importance of effective program evaluation roles in advancing social justice and equity.
  • Experience with utilization-focused evaluation and evaluation for equity.
  • Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following educational areas; K-12 education, early childhood development, youth development, and popular education.
  • Knowledge of and experience in navigating educational institutions, resources, programs, social services and government agencies.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office products (especially EXCEL), Google, and GSuite preferred.
  • Experience using ETO software a PLUS.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple complex projects and deadlines.
  • Highly skilled in working collaboratively with evaluation and program staff from culturally diverse backgrounds.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish (including public speaking).
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Hybrid work model with regular in-person work in the office and with partners, as needed.
  • Evening and weekend availability may be required, and work hours are flexible to accommodate program implementation; long hours during peak periods.
  • Reliable transportation/personal car with valid driver’s license to office and/or other work locations including partner sites required.
  • Undergoing and passing criminal background checks is required.
