Lactation Admissions
All students must first complete our Lactation Education courses. We recommend that interested undergraduate students in the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health take our Lactation Education courses in their Junior or Senior year. Students can start the Lactation Education course series in the Fall or Winter term each year if they meet our prerequisite requirements.
Any PSU student can enroll in those courses as long as they meet the prerequisite requirements. Students can obtain the Undergraduate Certificate in Human Lactation while seeking a degree, after degree completion (Post-bac) or as a non-degree seeking student. Lactation Practicum
The Pathway 2 Lactation Practicum is limited entry. Once students have completed the Lactation Education courses they can apply in the Spring term for the next academic year. See the Clinical Lactation Experience section for more information.

APPLICATION TIMELINE
- April 8th, 2024: Pathway 2 Open House & Practicum Applications open for viewing
- April 12th, 2024: Application process open
- May 10th, 2024: Completed application and all materials due by 5:00pm (PST)
- June 3rd, 2024: Applicants notified of virtual interview invitation by email
- June 11th -13th, 2024: Interviews held 9:00am-4:00 pm (PST)
- June 26th, 2024: Interview participants notified of final admission status
- July 31st, 2024: All screening paperwork for practicum due
- August 21st, 28th and September 4th, 2024 (9 am – 1 pm PT): Clinical preparation live distance learning course.
- September 30th, 2024: Fall term & clinical experience starts.
- October 3rd – Dec 12th, 2024 (6:30 pm – 8 pm PT): Weekly live distance learning classes on Thursdays.
- October 19th, 2024 (9 am – 4:30 pm PT): In-person Skills Workshop Weekend at PSU. Can attend virtually if travel is prohibitive.
- October 20th, 2024 (9am – 1 pm PT): In-person Skills Workshop Weekend at PSU. Can attend virtually if travel is prohibitive.
