What is the SPH Emergency Fund?
The OHSU-PSU School of Public Health emergency funds support students who experience sudden and unexpected financial emergency that will pause or postpone their educational pursuits.
Emergency Fund Details
These funds cannot be used to cover tuition and fees. Emergency funds are for OHSU-PSU School of Public Health students. All currently-enrolled students are eligible to apply for these funds. Student financial aid (allowance, receipt of federal aid, and other reasons) can affect the amount of funding received. Eligible students can receive emergency funds one each academic year.
Application Process
Fill out the online application form to start the process. You will need to include the following information:
- Your full name
- Your student ID number
- Name of your program (and year if applicable)

If you need immediate support with resources and navigating complex systems that are negatively impacting you, here are some people to contact today:
PSU Students (undergraduate students, lactation students, and dual-degree grad students):
- PSU CARES – learn more and submit a self-referra. A case manager will contact you and can provide resources and support.
- PSU Basic Needs Hub – Emergency funds, food assistance, housing assistance, and more.
- PSU General Emergency Fund – this will open for application on 1/13/25 in Scholarship Universe.
- PSU Financial Wellness Center
OHSU Students (most graduate students)
- OHSU CARE Team – learn more and submit a self-referral. A case manager will contact you and can provide resources and support.
- OHSU Food Resources and Basic Needs Assistance.
- OHSU Educational Debt Counseling and Financial Management.
- All SPH students are welcome to connect with the SPH Student Success Center on the 6th floor of the Vanport Building at any time.
