Announcing the promotion of Dr. Dawn Richardson to Senior Associate Dean of Academic Operations

The OHSU-PSU School of Public Health (SPH) is proud to announce the promotion of Dr. Dawn Richardson, MPH, DrPH, from Associate Dean of Academic & Faculty Affairs to Senior Associate Dean of Academic Operations. This appointment marks a significant milestone in Dr. Richardson’s distinguished career within our institution, and recognizes the invaluable contributions she has shown toward advancing health equity through quality education and an exceptional student experience.

Dr. Richardson has been an integral part of the SPH community for over 12 years, demonstrating a profound commitment to excellence in education, research, community service, as well as establishing SPH’s antiracism and social justice initiatives. In her previous role as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Richardson was instrumental in developing the new faculty mentorship program, enhancing faculty development initiatives, and fostering an environment that supports academic success.

In her new role as Senior Associate Dean of Academic Operations, Dr. Richardson will continue overseeing the Academic and Faculty Affairs portfolios, and will also now be responsible for directing the work of Student Affairs, Student Success, Social Justice, and Communications & Marketing.

Dr. Richardson holds an MPH in Global Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a DrPH from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Richardson served in the inaugural role of Associate Dean of Social Justice. Dr. Richardson’s extensive experience and academic accomplishments have earned her a reputation as a respected leader, scholar, and advocate for students and faculty alike.
