Wildfire and Human Health

In July 2022, Oregon Museum of Science & Industry (OMSI) submitted a grant proposal to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop a travelling museum exhibit about Wildfire and Human Health. In collaboration with OMSI, Dr. Lisa Marriott’s Fall 2022 class, Concepts in Environmental Health (ESHH 511), created the website as an extension to their NIH proposal to serve as foundational work that could be featured in the travelling exhibit, if funded. Ruby Mitchell, a 2nd year ESHH student, served as the teaching assistant for the course and primary editor.

OMSI’s proposal partners with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and the Forestry Center (see Team). Both OHSU and OMSI are recipients of the Science Education Partnership Awards (SEPAs) in Oregon, along with Lisa Marriott’s SEPA grant (R25 GM129840) focused on STEM informatics.
