DESCRIPTION:To understand the rationale for targeted depression screening in older adults and learning about evidence based screening tools\nTo understand the prevalence of sucide risk in older adults and increasing provider comfort with suicide risk assessment\nTo understand rationale for engaging in safety planning and lethal means counseling with those patients who have been identified as being at risk for suicide\nTo increase provider comfort with the intervention of safety planning as a standard of care for patients who have been identified as being at risk for suicide.\n\nSpeaker Dr. Manvi Smith\nDr. Manvi Smith is a suicide prevention expert partnering with healthcare clinics and organizations to strengthen safety\, reduce risk\, and improve patient outcomes. She specializes in developing evidence-based workflows\, staff trainings\, and sustainable practices that integrate suicide care into everyday clinical practice.
