SUMMARY:Pizza and PPOP night!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a hands-on community service event where OHSU students will assemble hundreds of first aid kits for Portland People’s Outreach Project (PPOP). \nThese kits will be distributed at PPOP’s regular community sites to support people in need through their harm reduction work across Portland. This interdisciplinary event is a meaningful way to support community health while connecting with students from across OHSU. In past years\, students from nursing\, medicine\, pharmacy\, and dentistry have joined us\, and this year we’re excited to welcome students from public health as well. DESCRIPTION:Mentoring is collaborative. Ideally\, mentees and mentors engage as partners through reciprocal activities such as planning\, acting\, reflecting\, questioning\, and problem solving. Mentee success is defined as mentees having gained 1) personal and professional competencies necessary to define their research goals\, 2) experience for that career\, and 3) the ability and opportunity to progress toward that chosen career goal. \nThe content of each session in this curriculum is designed to address some of the challenges and concerns that mentees might encounter throughout their career. In this mentoring up series\, mentees will develop the knowledge and skills to proactively and effectively address these challenges and navigate their mentoring relationships and career progression. DESCRIPTION:The OHSU Integrated Genomics Laboratory (IGL) currently operates two QuantStudio™ 7 Flex Real-Time PCR (qPCR) instruments to support high-throughput gene expression analysis for the OHSU research community\, as well as researcher at the Portland area.
