Research Committee Responsibilities
The purpose of the Research Committee is to advise the AD/R and develop and engage in activities that nurture the SPH’s research enterprise.
Major activities of the committee include:
Identify and facilitate promotion of research opportunities to SPH faculty.
Assist the Dean and Associate Dean for Research to design and disseminate internal research funding opportunities (e.g. pilot awards).
Advise the Dean and Associate Dean for Research on faculty mentoring to support individual and collective research activities.
Coordinate a regular research seminar series featuring SPH faculty, doctoral students, and guest speakers.
Create faculty development opportunities for SPH researchers.
Select the SPH Researcher of the Year for PSU and OHSU.
Support the development of an external research presence for the SPH, including procedures for collecting and posting information about SPH faculty research activities for the SPH website.
Support faculty in the research enterprise.
