Biography

Dr. Savitz has a community based appointment in the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health as an Affiliated Professor in the Health Systems Management and Policy programs, primarily Health Systems & Policy. In this role, Professor Savitz’s work includes collaborating other faculty members in Health Systems & Policy, mentoring or advising PhD students in HSP, serve as preceptor, and participates in the School at large.

Lucy Savitz, Ph.D., MBA has over 30 years of experience in health care delivery and health services research. Currently, Dr. Savitz serves as Vice President for Health Research for Kaiser Permanente (IP) Northwest Region and Director for the KP Center for Health Research in Oregon and Hawaii. Most recently, she was Assistant Vice President for Delivery System Science in the Intermountain Healthcare Institute for Healthcare Delivery Research where she was responsible for facilitating mission critical health services research and enhancing the scientific stature of clinical investigators.

Experienced Faculty With Diverse Backgrounds

More than 150 faculty members work within the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. They have a wide range of expertise, from monitoring and assessing health risks and opportunities in populations, to helping build health-supporting social environments through policy, advocacy, and programs. They are educators, advisors, researchers, practitioners and community leaders. They come from backgrounds in quantitative, behavioral, environmental and social sciences, policy and government, exercise and health sciences and anthropology, among many other areas. They all work in collaboration with each other and with community partners, and are especially focused on the training and education of future leaders and practitioners in the public health fields.
