Assistant Professor Epidemiology

Biography

Dr. Reem Hasan, has a secondary faculty appointment in the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health as an Assistant Professor in the Epidemiology programs. In this SPH role her work includes teaching courses, mentoring students, and collaborating on research with primary faculty members.

Her interests in medicine revolve around the intersection of medical care, health delivery, community/population health, and the social influencers on health – the social and human context of medicine. Dr. Hasan’s additional research interest is the pediatric to adult transition. As a med-peds physician, she cares for patients across the age spectrum, and knows that this transition can be difficult for vulnerable and medically complex patients. In addition to developing new clinical pathways for coordinating patients’ care, Dr. Hasan has also published and mentored students in bringing to light the OHSU transition experience and disparities in care.

In addition to Dr. Hasan’s work as a faculty member in SPH, she is an Assistant Professor in the OHSU School of Medicine, where she is involved in teaching and supervising learners at all levels, developed courses and curricula, led small group sessions and workshops, and individually mentored students.
