Portland State University is ranked the most innovative school in Oregon and maintained other honors in rankings released today by U.S. News & World Report in its “Best Colleges 2019.”
This marks the fourth year in a row that U.S. News & World Report has named Portland State among the nation’s most innovative schools. This year’s rankings placed PSU 32nd nationally, on par with University of Pennsylvania and University of Virginia and higher than any other school in Oregon.
In honoring PSU, U.S. News took into account the university’s investment in affordability and access; its collaborations with business, civic, and research institutions; and its tradition of sending students into the community to work, study and volunteer.
U.S. News also maintained PSU’s ranking in service learning programs, in which volunteering in the community is both an institutional strategy and a requirement of student coursework. It is an integral part of PSU’s mission to “Let Knowledge Serve the City.”
