Public Health Workforce Training Opportunities
The School of Public Health has partnered with OHSU’s Center for Community Outreach, Research, and Engagement (CORE) to identify training and development opportunities for public health professionals. A new Public Health Workforce Training website provides public health professionals with a centralized location offering a wide array of opportunities to support continued learning and professional development. From online courses to conferences and workshops, graduate level certificate programs to individual project technical assistance, the new website will aid public health professionals in finding the tools and training needed to support a current workforce or further one’s own career. Many of these opportunities are free of charge, as are opportunities to earn Continuing Education credits for the Certified in Public Health (CPH) credential.
NWCPHP’s new free, 90-minute contact tracing training is live and available now! The training, Every Contact Counts, will support public health agencies’ ability to expand contact tracing efforts and slow the spread of COVID-19.
Every Contact Counts is designed for public health professionals who may have little to no experience with contact tracing. They will be able to learn the basics to be successful as they reach out to community members and help save lives. Every Contact Counts also complements existing disease surveillance systems, programs, and training an organization is already using to help monitor public health.
