ASPPH Advocacy in Action: Advancing Public Health in a Shifting Political Landscape
June 26 @ 7:00 am - 8:00 am
Join us for Advocacy in Action: Advancing Public Health in a Shifting Political Landscape, an ASPPH Presents webinar on June 26 at 10:00 AM ET, moderated by our Chief External Relations and Advocacy Officer, Tim Leshan. Held in conjunction with ASPPH’s member-only 2025 Sections Retreat, this public session will offer a timely policy update and strategic insights into elevating academic public health voices amid growing political and fiscal challenges.
The webinar will provide a comprehensive advocacy briefing and a strategic discussion on navigating today’s increasingly complex policy environment. It will also highlight ASPPH’s current federal policy priorities and offer practical insights for engaging effectively with policymakers and stakeholders.
As public health professionals face heightened political and budgetary challenges, this session will equip participants with tools to build coalitions, elevate public health narratives, and communicate the value of academic public health more strategically.
Additionally, the session will spotlight key findings from Broken Lifelines: The Economic Consequences of Defunding Academic Public Health, ASPPH’s recent report on the far-reaching impact of funding cuts.
