Know Your Rights Part 2
April 24 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Join our Teach-In, developed and facilitated by faculty, staff, and alumni from the School of Public Health. The previous Know Your Rights event (Part 1) focused on immigration-related topics, such as the role of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), the experiences of undocumented individuals, DACA recipients, and DREAMers (including rights and resources available). In this session, we plan to expand on the historical contexts that led to anti-immigration discourse and harmful actions that immigration communities have experienced locally and in the U.S.
Through discussions and collective resource-sharing, these sessions continue to seek ways to create awareness, support, and advocacy for immigrant communities, particularly in the context of education and legal rights. The goal is to provide a clearer understanding of immigration issues, practical tools for navigating challenges, and knowledge of campus and external resources to support each other.
This event is in VPT 515 and on Zoom from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Thursday, April 24. A Zoom link will be sent out the day before the event. Please feel free to join us at any time.
