Embark on a journey to Japan while also earning credits toward your degree! My name is Betty Izumi and I’m a professor in the School of Public Health and also a registered dietitian. I am Japanese Canadian/American and have lived and traveled extensively in Japan. I’ll be leading a study abroad in Japan in Fall term that takes students to 3 major cities: Tokyo, Kobe, and Kyoto! Japan will be our classroom as we learn about food and nutrition programs, practices, and policies through field trips to schools, senior care facilities, food banks, farms, and more! Hands-on cultural experiences include making tofu and participating in a tea ceremony. This fast paced, 4-credit course for graduate and undergraduate students will take place from December 6-20.
