Graduation & Ceremonies

Dear Students,

COVID-19 is impacting our global community in ways few could have imagined. In Oregon, the governor issued an executive order to “Stay Home, Save Lives.” In line with other schools in the state, OHSU and PSU have made the incredibly difficult decision that graduation events will not be held in-person this year. OHSU, PSU, and the SPH are exploring alternate ways to celebrate this momentous occasion, and will provide additional information as details are confirmed.

Apply to Graduate

The School of Public Health graduates students each Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer term. Students who expect to complete all of their academic program’s degree requirements must apply online to graduate.

  • Students who register through PSU, apply to graduate using published deadline and pay the PSU graduation fee.
  • Students who register through OHSU apply to graduate in SIS one term prior to completing all degree requirements and pay the OHSU graduation fee.
  • Dual degree students who register through OHSU submit an Application for Dual Degree Form one term prior to completing all degree requirements and pay the OHSU graduation fee.

Final official transcripts will be released by the Registrar’s Office only after degree verification is complete and all institutional obligations have been satisfied.

Regalia - Academic Cap, Gown, and Tassel

Order Regalia

What colors are my regalia?

Master’s degree students and alums wear a black robe, a black mortarboard cap, a salmon pink tassel that will hang from your cap, and a master’s hood (imagine a backwards scarf) indicating the University’s colors and the discipline’s color.

When should I order?

The order deadline is April 17, 2020

Faculty Regalia

SPH faculty wear the regalia from their highest degree earned, and so will have varying robe colors, cap types, and hood colors.
