Update on Spring 2021 Graduation Ceremonies

Welcome! The School of Public Health is excited to recognize the accomplishments of the Class of 2021 at both our partner universities this year.

Given the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, both OHSU and PSU are exploring options for graduation ceremonies in June, monitoring public health measures according to Oregon Health Authority guidelines regarding large in-person events in 2021 to determine if the ceremonies should be fully online or a hybrid of online and in-person events. Therefore, we discourage graduates and their guests from making any non-refundable travel arrangements until plans for Commencement and Convocation are confirmed.

Updates will be posted on this page.

Getting Ready To Graduate?
Here’s What You Need To Know

Graduation refers to formal certification of a student’s completion of all academic program requirements, including comprehensive or certification exams. Upon certification, the degree or certificate is noted as “awarded” on the student’s academic transcript, and in Banweb (PSU) or the Student Information System (OHSU).  Formal certification and awarding (also called conferral) of degrees and certificates occurs at the University level, in the Registrars’ Offices.  Students may graduate from their academic programs in any academic term. You must formally apply to graduate in order to receive your degree or certificate.

Graduation Ceremonies
Graduation ceremonies are an opportunity for students, families, friends, and the School and University communities to celebrate their academic achievements. The School of Public Health is a partnership between OHSU and PSU. As such, there are several graduation ceremonies in which SPH students may participate.
