Marisa Westbrook Awarded National Fellowship to Advance Research on Hispanic Families’ Economic Well-Being
The OHSU-PSU School of Public Health is thrilled to share that Assistant Professor Marisa Westbrook received a competitive fellowship from The National Research Center on Hispanic Children & Families. The Fellowship Program for Research on Economic Well-Being Among Hispanic Children and Families provides a $7,000 award to support Westbrook’s ongoing research on “doubled-up” families—households where extended family or non-relatives share living space out of economic necessity.
Over the next year, the fellowship will provide Westbrook with mentorship from an experienced researcher in the field, as well as resources to advance her work exploring how shared housing arrangements affect the well-being of Hispanic children and families.
