Big Sky Conference Celebrates Academic Excellence: 2024-2025 Spring All-Conference Honors Announced

The Big Sky Conference has officially released its Academic All-Conference list for the 2024-2025 spring season, shining a spotlight on student-athletes who balance elite athletic performance with rigorous academic standards.

The honors cover a wide range of spring programs, including Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Women’s Golf, Softball, and Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field.

To be eligible for academic all-conference honors, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team’s competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution.

Several standout student-athletes led the way for their respective programs this season. In Softball, the honors were given to Grace Johnson (Redshirt Junior, Public Health Studies: Health Services Administration), Grace Kimball (Senior, Applied Health & Fitness), and Gracie Toney ( Freshman, Applied Health & Fitness).

In Men’s Outdoor Track & Field, Carter Green (Freshman, Applied Health & Fitness) secured his place on the list. In Women’s Outdoor Track & Field, Ania Kapustka (Junior, Applied Health & Fitness), Taylor Nichols (Junior, Public Health Studies: Pre-Clinical), Naia Olivier (Freshman, Applied Health & Fitness) and Emma Stolte (Junior, Public Health Studies: Pre-Clinical) made the list.

The conference also took a moment to celebrate high-level national recognition within the Volleyball program. Reese Biesemeyer (Sophomore, Public Health) was named to the Academic All-District Team by College Sports Communicators (CSC).This prestigious honor recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
