Celebrating Excellence: Jodi Lapidus Receives OHSU Service Award

We are thrilled to share that our colleague, Jodi Lapidus, Ph.D., was honored with the Service Award at this year’s OHSU Distinguished Faculty Awards ceremony.

The 30th annual event, hosted by the Faculty Senate on Friday, Feb. 20, at the Knight Cancer Research Building, recognized six faculty members for their exceptional contributions to OHSU’s mission over the past five years.

Dr. Lapidus, a Professor and Director of the Biostatistics and Design Program, was celebrated for her tireless dedication to OHSU services. Her leadership within the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute’s (OCTRI) biostatistics, epidemiology, and research design programs has been instrumental in supporting high-level scholarship across the institution.

We also want to extend a special congratulations to Charlie Roscoe, Ph.D., who was recognized as a finalist for these prestigious awards.

During the ceremony, OHSU President Shereef Elnahal, M.D., M.B.A., praised the faculty’s vital role, noting: “Faculty are like the quarterbacks of the team. They’re moral leaders and tactical and strategical leaders.”

Provost Marie Chisholm-Burns also emphasized that winners like Dr. Lapidus drive positive change by mentoring others, participating in vital research, and improving health outcomes throughout Oregon and beyond.

About the Distinguished Faculty Awards

Recipients are selected by the Faculty Senate awards committee across six categories: leadership, excellence, collaboration, research, service, and teaching. Along with the recognition of their peers, winners receive a certificate and a cash award made possible by the OHSU Foundation.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Lapidus on this well-deserved recognition of her hard work and commitment to our community!
