Congratulations to Dr. Laura Jacobson, Recipient of the 2025 Early Achievement in Social Science Research Award

We are proud to share that Dr. Laura Jacobson, Adjunct Assistant Professor at the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health, has been named the 2025 winner of The Carole Joffe and Stanley Henshaw Early Achievement in Social Science Research Award from the National Abortion Federation.

This prestigious award honors individuals who have made exceptional contributions to generating abortion-related knowledge, and Dr. Jacobson’s recognition is a testament to the significant impact of her work.

Dr. Jacobson, PhD, MPH, is also a Research Consultant with Ibis Reproductive Health and the World Health Organization. With over a decade of research experience, she has focused her career on advancing the quality of abortion care, expanding understanding of medication abortion self-use, and strengthening health system accountability. Her technical expertise spans quasi-experimental design, qualitative and quantitative methodologies, evidence synthesis, and policy analysis—skills she brings to each of her impactful projects.
