Biography

Dr. Lekas’ interest in health care started as far back as he can remember. He carried his toy medical kit with him everywhere, just in case. His youth was filled with participation in sports including Baseball, Soccer, Basketball, Football and Wrestling. Being the adventurous youngest of 3, it was the jumping of his bicycles off ramps, repelling off rooftops and tree branches, and his love of martial arts that kept his parents involved in frequent emergency room and orthopedic office visits. Through experiencing many procedures and rehabilitations, the process of health care became of even more an interest to him. His first chiropractic experience, unbeknownst to his parents, occurred while sparring in an adult martial arts class. Parts of his foot were not pointing in the correct direction after an impact occurred. One of the instructors quickly corrected the problem, joints were taped up, and he was stood back up to finish sparring. “Cool”, was the thought of a 14 year old boy. Clearwater.

Dr. Lekas has been an associate physician at Clearwater Clinic since 2009. Although he is known as a “sports medicine physician”, Dr. Lekas treats everyone and anyone of all ages. His motto “Keeping active people active in the game of life” is the theme behind his approach. “The sidelines, whether in sport or in life, are nowhere as enjoyable as being in the game itself.“
