Jason Faler²
Biography
Jason Faler has taught Healthcare Law & Regulation and various other courses on occasion since 2007. He is currently the Chief Executive/Practice Administrator at Skyline Oral, Facial & Dental Implant Surgery. Prior to joining Skyline, Jason was director of affiliations and partnerships at PeaceHealth, and Sr. director in the Strategic Management Services division at Providence Health & Services.
Jason is combat veteran of both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, and is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, where he is the commander of Detachment 3, 3100 Strategic Intelligence Group. Prior to that, he taught several courses as an instructor in the US Army Command and General Staff Officer Course.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Oregon State University, a Master of Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University, a Master of Science in Jurisprudence from the Seton Hall University School of Law, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
In 2008, Jason founded The Checkpoint One Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to aiding Iraqi and Afghan interpreters and their families with relocation to safety in the United States. In 2009, Jason was nominated by U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden and was a finalist for the Above and Beyond Citizen Honors Award, an honor bestowed by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. Jason is actively involved with youth athletics and enjoys reading, travel and spending time with family.

Experienced Faculty With Diverse Backgrounds
More than 150 faculty members work within the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. They have a wide range of expertise, from monitoring and assessing health risks and opportunities in populations, to helping build health-supporting social environments through policy, advocacy, and programs. They are educators, advisors, researchers, practitioners and community leaders. They come from backgrounds in quantitative, behavioral, environmental and social sciences, policy and government, exercise and health sciences and anthropology, among many other areas. They all work in collaboration with each other and with community partners, and are especially focused on the training and education of future leaders and practitioners in the public health fields.
