Advancing Equity in Cancer Clinical Trials

On April 7, 2026, Assistant Professor Kristi Tredway represented the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health at the Cancer Clinical Trial Methods: Training Conference, hosted by the Knight Cancer Institute (KCI). The conference centered on the theme Advancing Cancer Clinical Trials Through Innovation, Equity, and Modern Practice, bringing together leaders committed to improving the inclusivity and effectiveness of clinical research.

Tredway joined Tiffani Howard, PhD, Assistant Director of Community Outreach & Engagement at KCI, and Cirila Estela Vasquez Guzman, PhD, Assistant Professor of Family Medicine, for a featured panel discussion on “Building Trust: Community-Engaged Research, Outreach & Equitable Trial Participation.” Prior to the panel discussion, Tredway presented on “Capturing Diverse LGBT Population Data,” highlighting the importance of inclusive data practices in expanding equitable participation in cancer clinical trials.
