Dean's Advisory Councils
In addition to the Dean’s Leadership Team, the following Advisory Councils serve as sources of information and guidance to the dean, providing a means for faculty and students to contribute to the governance of the School of Public Health, and ensuring independent, external counsel and assessment from public health, business, and government stakeholders.
External Advisory Council
Dean’s Office Liaison: Founding Dean
The External Advisory Council (EAC) brings diverse community stakeholder perspectives to support and advise the School on community partnership strategies, public health service, academic curricula, workforce development, and other key initiatives. Since the External Advisory Council members are selected to represent a variety of perspectives and interests, there are no restrictions on who may serve on this Council.20211109-SPH-External-Advisory-Council-AY21-22-membership-FINAL
Dean’s Office Liaison: Dean
The primary responsibilities of the Faculty Council are to: 1) advise the Dean, 2) act as a liaison between the SPH faculty and the Dean’s Office, and 3) support the Dean in development and review of programs, proposals, standards, and strategic opportunities. Faculty Council provides input to faculty governance and advises the Dean regarding administrative matters, operational mission, and policies. Faculty Council may be invited to conduct preliminary reviews of major changes in Bylaws, Guiding Statements, and other foundational documents prior to the Dean’s Office bringing these changes to the full Voting Faculty.

Student Leadership Council
The Student Leadership Council (SLC) is the student governance structure for the School of Public Health. SLC acts as the student voice for the School of Public Health. Our mission is to promote advocacy, collaboration, openness, respect, and equity among students. Student leadership council members work with their constituents, faculty, and administration to coordinate student events, provide valuable insight, and promote academic excellence.
SLC membership is open to all students in the School of Public Health. If you are interested in joining or attending a meeting to see what we are all about, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
