Tuition & fees for the Lactation program follow the PSU undergraduate tuition rate. You can view the PSU Tuition tables.
Credits Breakdown
PATHWAY 2 LACTATION PRACTICUM – 15 credits total
All students in our Pathway 2 Lactation Practicum complete these four terms.
- Summer term – PHE 409: Lactation Practicum (2 credits/20 hrs)
- Fall term – PHE 409: Lactation Practicum (5 credits/50 hrs)
- Winter term – PHE 409: Lactation Practicum (5 credits/50 hrs)
- Spring term – PHE 409: Lactation Practicum (3 credits/30 hrs)
Practicum Fees
There are additional fees for the Pathway 2 practicum and those who choose to sit for the IBLCE Exam. The practicum has fees beyond that for the course itself. The approximate cost is between $200-$350.
Exam Fees
The final step in IBLCE certification is applying for and passing the IBCLE Exam. All students who successfully complete the SPH Pathway 2 courses (Lactation Education full course series and the Lactation Practicum) will be eligible to apply for and take the IBCLE Exam to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
