Anne Nguyen
Biography
My name is Anne Nguyen and my pronouns are she/her.
I’m currently a first-year MPH student in Epidemiology and have special interests in studying infectious diseases and social determinants of health. I graduated from Pacific University 3 years ago with a BA in Public Health and after graduating, I did work as an outreach coordinator prior to starting the MPH program. I chose the OHSU-PSU SPH because it is one of the top MPH programs in the U.S., is close to home (I was born and raised in the Portland metro area!), and is very affordable compared to other institutions. My favorite part of the program is how many opportunities there are to socialize and to learn new things, as there are frequent events and guest lectures students can attend.
Outside of school, some of my hobbies and interests include traveling to new places, trying new restaurants, collecting blindboxes, going to concerts, and watching TV. Some of my favorite concerts have been artists like SEVENTEEN, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar + SZA, and Thuy. Some of my favorite shows right now include The Pitt, St. Denis Medical, and Abbott Elementary.
Feel free to reach out for any questions regarding the program or about my experience being in the Epidemiology program. If you’re new to Oregon/Portland or are generally looking for recommendations for restaurants, cafes, dessert spots, or fun places to visit, I can help out with that too! 🙂
My office hours are Tuesdays on Zoom from 3:30-4:30pm PST. If these office hours do not work for you, let me know and we can find another time to meet!
