Graduation & Ceremonies – June 2025

SPH CEREMONY INFORMATION

Graduate students at the School of Public Health will apply to graduate through OHSU Self Services and are eligible to participate in the OHSU university-wide Commencement and the SPH Hooding Ceremony, as well as PSU’s Commencement. For more information review the Graduation Checklist.

All undergraduate students, dual MPH/MSW and MPH/MURP degree students will apply to graduate through PSU Banweb and may participate in PSU’s Commencement. For more information review the Graduation Checklist.

OHSU Commencement & SPH Hooding

Location: Viking Pavilion

Who can participate: All undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students.

OHSU Faculty Brunch (11:00am)

Faculty Brunch at 11:00am PST if RSVP'd

OHSU Students Arrival (12:00pm - 12:30pm)

Students must arrive between 12:00-12:30pm at Exhibit Hall A1

Faculty & Staff Arrival for OHSU Commencement (12:00pm - 12:30pm)

Arrive for Commencement between 12:00pm - 12:30pm at:

  • Platform Party - Rooms A103 and A104
  • Faculty - Meeting rooms A105 and A106
  • Faculty Marshal - be in student robing area (Exhibit Hall A1) by 12:30pm

OHSU Commencement Ceremony Starts (1:00pm)

OHSU Commencement Ceremony is from 1:00pm to 2:30pm

SPH Hooding Student Arrival (2:00pm - 2:30pm PST)

Students must arrive between 2-2:30pm at Room A107

SPH Hooding Faculty Arrival (By 2:30pm)

Faculty must arrive by 2:30pm at

  • Room A107 - faculty who are hooding students
  • Exhibit Hall A - faculty not hooding students, seating starts at 2:30pm

SPH Hooding Ceremony Starts (3:00pm)

SPH Hooding ceremony is from 3:00pm to 5:00pm

Information for students and faculty to help order their Regalia. Regalia is required for all students and faculty participants.

Diplomas & Covers

Diplomas are shipped to the address on file after grades are posted and degrees are conferred, typically 3-8 weeks after the end of the term.

PSU diploma covers are handed out to those who attend PSU Commencement; students who do not attend may purchase a cover may do so through the University Market.

OHSU diploma covers are handed out to those who attend the SPH Hooding Ceremony; students who do not attend may get one through the School (details to come).

GRADUATION STUDENT CHECKLIST

All students must apply to graduate, whether they choose to participate in a ceremony or not.If you do not apply to graduate, your degree will not be awarded. See #2 in the Graduation Checklist, below, for details.

#1) Check Your Degree Audit

Make sure you will complete all degree requirements, including comprehensive and/or CPH exams, by the last day of the term in which you expect to graduate. Meet with your advisor to plan your final coursework and/or exams, and to clear up any outstanding issues.

#2) Apply To Graduate

All students MUST apply to graduate by the relevant deadline in order to receive a degree or certificate, whether they intend to participate in a ceremony or not. If you do not apply to graduate, your degree will not be awarded.

PSU REGISTRANTS

All SPH undergraduate students, dual MPH/MSW and MPH/MURP degree students, and PhD students who matriculated prior to Fall 2017 are PSU registrants, who apply to graduate in PSU Banweb and pay the PSU graduation fee.

OHSU REGISTRANTS

All other SPH graduate students are OHSU registrants, who apply to graduate through OHSU Student Self-Service and pay the OHSU graduation fee.

#3) Check Your Eligibility

PSU COMMENCEMENT, JUNE 2025

SPH undergraduate, master, and certificate students who have submitted their graduation application by the relevant deadline, and who have completed or expect to complete their academic program requirements in any of the following terms:

  • Fall 2024
  • Winter 2025
  • Spring 2025
  • Summer 2025
  • Fall 2025

SPH doctoral students completing Fall 2024 through Fall 2025, who have been certified by the PSU Graduate School and heave met the appropriate deadlines.

OHSU COMMENCEMENT, JUNE 2025

SPH certificate, master and doctoral students who have applied to graduate by the relevant deadline, and who have completed or expect to complete their academic program requirements in any of the following terms:

  • Summer 2024 (unless you participated in a previous year’s commencement)
  • Fall 2024
  • Winter 2025
  • Spring 2025
  • Summer 2025

Doctoral students intending to graduate in Spring or Summer 2025 are eligible to participate only if they have met the appropriate deadlines.

SPH HOODING 2025

SPH master and doctoral students who have applied to graduate by the relevant deadline, and who have completed or expect to complete their academic requirements in any of the following terms:

  • Summer 2024 (unless you participated in SPH Hooding in 2024)
  • Fall 2024
  • Winter 2025
  • Spring 2025
  • Summer 2025

Doctoral students intending to graduate in Spring or Summer 2025 are eligible to participate only if they have met the appropriate deadlines.

#4) RSVP To The Ceremony

Graduate students must RSVP for all graduation ceremonies by completing the 2025 Graduation Celebrations form.

#5) Order Your Regalia

Regalia is required for all students and faculty participants.
