Congratulations to Dr. Paula Carder — PSU Researcher of the Year!
We’re thrilled to celebrate Dr. Paula Carder, Professor at the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health and Director of the Institute on Aging at Portland State University, for being named PSU’s Researcher of the Year!
Dr. Carder’s work centers on housing and long-term care options for older adults, including those living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. With over 75 publications under her belt, she continues to lead nationally recognized research on:
- The impact of state regulations on dementia care in assisted living
- The role of private equity in assisted living mergers & acquisitions
Both projects, in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University and funded by the National Institute on Aging, reflect her deep commitment to improving lives through evidence-based policy and practice.
