Biography

Emily Morris Kemmerer, M.Ed., serves as Assistant Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs at the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. With more than two decades of experience in higher education, she is passionate about supporting student success through community engagement, leadership development, service-learning, and programs that ease students’ transition to college and graduate education. Emily earned her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College, where she studied in the Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations.

Before joining the School of Public Health in 2022, she held a variety of student affairs leadership positions, including work focused on student engagement, leadership programs, summer bridge initiatives, and creating meaningful partnerships between campuses and communities. Her work centers on building inclusive environments where students feel connected, supported, and prepared to advance health and well-being in their communities.

Experienced Faculty With Diverse Backgrounds

More than 150 faculty members work within the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. They have a wide range of expertise, from monitoring and assessing health risks and opportunities in populations, to helping build health-supporting social environments through policy, advocacy, and programs. They are educators, advisors, researchers, practitioners and community leaders. They come from backgrounds in quantitative, behavioral, environmental and social sciences, policy and government, exercise and health sciences and anthropology, among many other areas. They all work in collaboration with each other and with community partners, and are especially focused on the training and education of future leaders and practitioners in the public health fields.
