SPH CEREMONY INFORMATION

OHSU Graduate Students Deadline: April 24th, 2026

Spring and Summer Graduate students at the School of Public Health will apply to graduate through OHSU Self Services and are eligible to participate in the OHSU university-wide Commencement and the SPH Hooding Ceremony, as well as PSU’s Commencement. For more information review the Graduation Checklist. – Deadline to apply to graduate is April 24th.

PSU Graduate Deadline: April 3rd, 2026 & PSU Undergraduate Deadline: March 8th, 2026

All undergraduate students, dual MPH/MSW and MPH/MURP degree students will applyl to graduate through myPSU and may participate in PSU’s Commencement. For more information review the Graduation Checklist. – Deadline to apply to graduate is April 3rd.

OHSU Commencement & SPH Hooding

OHSU Students Arrival (12:00pm - 12:30 PM)

Students must arrive between 12:00-12:30pm at Exhibit Hall A1

Faculty & Staff Arrival for OHSU Commencement (12:00pm - 12:30 PM)

Faculty and staff arrive for Commencement between 12:00pm - 12:30pm at:
  • Platform Party - Rooms A103 and A104
  • Faculty - Meeting rooms A105 and A106
  • Faculty Marshal - be in student robing area (Exhibit Hall A1) by 12:30pm

OHSU Commencement Ceremony Starts (1:00 PM)

OHSU Commencement Ceremony begins at 1:00 PM PST

SPH Student Line-Up (2:30 PM)

Students must arrive between 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM at Room A107 to begin lining-up

SPH Hooding Ceremony Starts (2:45 PM)

SPH Hooding ceremony begins approximately at 2:45 PM with a reception to follow.

Students and faculty must arrive at the Viking Pavilion at 3:00 PM PST.

PSU Commencement Starts (4:00 PM)

PSU Commencement ceremony starts at 4:00 PM PST at the Viking Pavilion.

RSVP Ceremony

Graduate students must RSVP for all graduation ceremonies by completing the 2026 Graduation Celebrations form

Diplomas & Covers

Diplomas are shipped to the address on file after grades are posted and degrees are conferred, typically 3-8 weeks after the end of the term.

PSU diploma covers are handed out to those who attend PSU Commencement; students who do not attend may purchase a cover may do so through the University Market.

OHSU diploma covers are handed out to those who attend the SPH Hooding Ceremony; students who do not attend may get one through the School (details to come).

GRADUATION STUDENT CHECKLIST

All students must apply to graduate, whether they choose to participate in a ceremony or not. If you do not apply to graduate, your degree will not be awarded. See #2 in the Graduation Checklist, below, for details.

#1) Check Your Degree Audit

Make sure you will complete all degree requirements, including comprehensive and/or CPH exams, by the last day of the term in which you expect to graduate. Meet with your advisor to plan your final coursework and/or exams, and to clear up any outstanding issues.

#2) Apply To Graduate

All students MUST apply to graduate by the relevant deadline in order to receive a degree or certificate, whether they intend to participate in a ceremony or not. If you do not apply to graduate, your degree will not be awarded.

PSU REGISTRANTS

All SPH undergraduate students, dual MPH/MSW and MPH/MURP degree students, and PhD students who matriculated prior to Fall 2017 are PSU registrants, who apply to graduate in myPSU and pay the PSU graduation fee. – Spring Graduate Deadline to apply to graduate is April 3rd. Summer Graduate Deadline is June 26th. Undergraduate Deadline is March 8th.

OHSU REGISTRANTS

All other SPH graduate students are OHSU registrants, who apply to graduate through OHSU Student Self-Service and pay the OHSU graduation fee.

#3) Check Your Eligibility

PSU COMMENCEMENT, JUNE 2026

SPH undergraduate, master, and certificate students who have submitted their graduation application by the relevant deadline, and who have completed or expect to complete their academic program requirements in any of the following terms:

  • Fall 2025
  • Winter 2026
  • Spring 2026
  • Summer 2026
  • Fall 2026

SPH doctoral students completing Fall 2025 through Fall 2026, who have been certified by the PSU Graduate School and heave met the appropriate deadlines.

OHSU COMMENCEMENT, JUNE 2026

SPH certificate, master and doctoral students who have applied to graduate by the relevant deadline, and who have completed or expect to complete their academic program requirements in any of the following terms:

  • Summer 2025 (unless you participated in a previous year’s commencement)
  • Fall 2025
  • Winter 2026
  • Spring 2026
  • Summer 2026

Doctoral students intending to graduate in Spring or Summer 2026 are eligible to participate only if they have met the appropriate deadlines.

SPH HOODING 2026

SPH master and doctoral students who have applied to graduate by the relevant deadline, and who have completed or expect to complete their academic requirements in any of the following terms:

  • Summer 2025 (unless you participated in SPH Hooding in 2025)
  • Fall 2026
  • Winter 2026
  • Spring 2026
  • Summer 2026

Doctoral students intending to graduate in Spring or Summer 2026 are eligible to participate only if they have met the appropriate deadlines.

#4) RSVP To The Ceremony

Graduate students must RSVP for all graduation ceremonies by completing the 2026 Graduation Celebrations form.
