The leadership of the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health is committed to ensure our graduates have the knowledge, skills, dedication, and passion to become the next generation of public health practitioners and leaders. Dean Paul K. Halverson, DrPH, MHSA, FACHE

Dean of OHSU-PSU School of Public Health, Paul K. Halverson

Paul K. Halverson, DrPH, MHSA, FACHE, brings a wealth of experience to the School of Public Health, having served in key leadership roles, including professor and founding dean of Indiana University’s Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health since May 2013. He earned a doctorate in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a master’s in health services administration from Arizona State University.

Before joining Indiana University, he was the state health officer and director for the Arkansas Department of Health and held senior leadership roles at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including as the director of the World Health Organization’s Collaborating Center for Public Health. He previously held faculty leadership roles at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dean’s Leadership Team

The Dean’s Leadership Team are the primary leadership for the School of Public Health. Working closely with the Dean, the leadership team oversees the School’s budget, teaching, research and scholarly activity, service, and advancement.
